What's going on at Dino Service?

Today Ferrari Dino 246 GT:

This dino has been more or less idle for several decades. But the owner has now decided to put him back on the road.

The 246 is to be brought into top condition. So a complete restoration is necessary.

So first tabula rasa. By the way, on this picture you can still see the original color Blu Dino Metallizzato in the area of the rear window frame. Not least in combination with the beige leather interior, we can already look forward to a gem today.

Here it is already almost completely disassembled. The wiring harness is still removed and small things like the pedals etc..

Here the engine compartment:

And a look at the water feeder with reference to our blog entry on the subject of cooling water pipes on the one hand and to our remanufactured castings of the water-flow-housings on the other hand.

The accumulations are likely to be a colorful mixture of disintegrated inner hose walls (new hoses are available here), water pipes, rust and organic material of unknown origin. In the present case, however, it does not matter much, since a complete engine overhaul was agreed from the outset.

This vehicle also needs to have some previous damage to the body repaired again. Note how the sill is assembled here.

Next, the Dino goes to the body shop. In parallel, we'll take care of the engine and transmission overhaul. We will continue to report on the progress.
